These booking terms apply to all safaris, Kilimanjaro climbs, Zanzibar holidays and other travel services arranged by Porini Catchers (“we”, “us”), a tour operator based in Arusha, Tanzania. By confirming a booking, you agree to these terms. Please read them carefully, and ask us if anything is unclear.
Every quote we send is tailor-made and shows what is and is not included. Prices are based on the park fees, taxes, accommodation rates and exchange rates in force when we quote. A booking is confirmed once we have received your deposit and sent you a written booking confirmation.
Government park and conservation fees, taxes and fuel prices are outside our control. If they change after you book, we may need to adjust the price. We will always show you the official change. We will not add hidden extras.
Cancellations must be made in writing by email. Because lodges, camps and parks apply their own cancellation charges, the amount you get back depends on how close to departure you cancel. The cancellation schedule for your trip is shown on your quote and invoice. Some services, such as gorilla permits, domestic flights and certain peak-season camps, may be non-refundable once booked. We will always try to keep your costs as low as possible.
We are happy to change your itinerary where we can. Any extra costs charged by suppliers will be passed on to you.
Safari travel can be affected by weather, road conditions, park regulations and events outside our control. We may need to change accommodation, routes or timings for safety or practical reasons. If so, we will offer an alternative of a similar standard. If we cancel your trip for reasons within our control, you will receive a full refund of the amounts paid to us.
Comprehensive travel insurance is a condition of booking. It should cover medical treatment, emergency evacuation, cancellation and loss of luggage. For Kilimanjaro climbs, your policy must cover trekking up to 6,000 metres. Visitors to Zanzibar must also hold the insurance required by the Zanzibar government.
You are responsible for having a valid passport, the correct visa and any vaccinations required for entry. Read our visa and entry guide for current information. Please tell us about any medical conditions, allergies or dietary needs when you book.
For your safety, please follow your guide’s instructions at all times, especially around wildlife and on the mountain. Your guide may change or stop an activity if conditions are unsafe. On Kilimanjaro, the lead guide’s decision to descend for health reasons is final. We may end the services of anyone whose behaviour puts others at risk, without refund.
Wildlife sightings cannot be guaranteed. Please respect park rules: no off-road driving where it is prohibited, no feeding animals, no littering and no drones without a permit.
We work carefully with trusted lodges, airlines and suppliers, but we are not liable for loss, injury, delay or damage caused by events beyond our reasonable control, or by the actions of independent suppliers. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under Tanzanian law.
If something is not right during your trip, tell your guide or call us straight away on +255 784 288 741 so we can fix it on the spot. Any complaint after your trip should be sent in writing to info@porinicatchers.com within 30 days of your return.
These terms are governed by the laws of the United Republic of Tanzania.
